Keep your eyes on the road ![]() Whether it’s up and coming independent musicians, internationally recognized blues artists or something in between, George’s Roadhouse is the place to be during weekends in Sackville for live music. “We have a lot of independent artists, especially local and regional acts that perform here,” says manager Darren Wheaton. “The bookings usually take care of themselves, with the exception of the blues acts that the Tantramar Blues Society brings in to town and bring here.” Depending on how well know the acts are, it’s not uncommon for George’s to be filled to it’s 225 seat capacity. People who squeeze in for the performances are treated to some top notch live music, as well as a full bar and a menu filled with traditional pub or tavern style food. Thursday nights, while not often holding a performance, is a popular night for patrons of George’s, as it’s a chance to fill up during wing night. Breakfast at the roadhouse is another popular meal, particularly for the Mount Allison students looking for a fill up on the weekends. Aside from the regular Thursday to Sunday events, George’s is also available for special events, like weddings, anniversaries and other similar occasions.
