Dieppe KITE International is Dieppe, New Brunswick's International Kite Festival
The Dieppe Kite Festival is an event in Dieppe, NB that brings together visiting countries such as The United States of America, France, Germany, Martinique,
England, Australia, Haïti, Holland, Tasmania, Scotland and Switzerland.
Wednesday to Sunday, August 11th to 15th, 2010
The seventh Dieppe Kite International takes place once
again at Dover Park.
Each day of the Festival, there will be free kite demonstrations, Rokkaku challenges with international kite flyers, and acrobatic kite flying demonstrations.
Other activities will be offered, such as kite creation, inflatable games, face painting, competitions, and a magic show with Rémi Boudreau.
Evening Shows:
New this year: the CHAOS dance show and the indoor kite flight on Thursday at 6:15 with Aeral Experience from Las Vegas.
Friday, August 13, with a special reunion of the Sweet Temptation group, The Divorcees, Melanie Morgan and Francelle Maria.
Saturday, August 14, promises to be very special with the night flight and the show featuring Cayouche, George Belliveau, and Herb LeBlanc.
Sunday, August 15, Acadia will be celebrated with Chiac, Acajun, Dominique Dupuis, Entoucas, and Rhéal LeBlanc
The car Tintamarre leaves Champlain Place at 5 p.m. and heads out to the Festival site
Parking: Dover Park; Dover Road; Freda, Marco and Kristian Streets and, one side of Amirault Street.
At 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday a shuttle bus runs to the site for the evening concerts.
Shuttle bus leaves from the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Centre. At the end of the evening's show, there is a return shuttle. Service is free.

Most events take place in Dover Park, Dieppe, New Brunswick - Dover Road is off Rue Amirault which is a continuation of Acadie Avenue.

Evening Shows:
$15 for Friday, $20 for Saturday, and $5 for the August 15 show.
Free for children 12 and under.
Three evening show pass is $30.

History of the Dieppe KITE International
The Dieppe Kite International was launched with the goal of organizing an exciting, original event on an international level that encourages exchanges among French-speaking countries. Following the success of the Village de la Francophonie, the town of Dieppe saw a need to plan an event to promote the local region around the world.
Dieppe Kite International has three major focuses: kite flying, community and cultural events.
The first focus, kite flying, is the main draw of the event due to its original and unique nature in the region. Kite flying is actually an entire series of disciplines ranging from extreme freestyle kite flying to show-kite flying. A number of festival events will be organized around the kite theme, including a demonstration where participants from various countries fly their kites, a kite-flying competition called a Rokkaku challenge, workshops on kite-building and flying for children, adults, and seniors, and a night flight.
